The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes (OSFL) will conclude its 30th season with a concert themed around iconic film music on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Corning Museum of Glass.

Titled Music in the Movies, the program will feature pianist Svetlana Smolina performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a work prominently featured in classic films like Brief Encounter and Shine. The concert will also include John Williams’ Star Wars theme, celebrating “May the Fourth,” and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5, known for its use in the sci-fi film Rollerball.

Under the baton of Music Director Toshiyuki Shimada, the OSFL invites audiences to dress in costume, formal wear, or come as they are. The event is sponsored by Streeter Associates, with tickets ranging from $29 to $59 for adults, $15 for college students, and free for youth under 18 with a ticketed adult.

Tickets are available at OSFL.org or by phone at 607-936-2873.
